SHORT-TERM RATES TO REMAIN STABLE

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today as Bank Negara continues to mop up excess liquidity from the market. The central bank has estimated a surplus of RM32.348 billion in conventional operations and RM7.198 billion in Islamic funds. To reduce the excess, it has called for conventional tenders for RM2 billion for eight days and RM3 billion for three weeks, a month and 42 days.

It has also called for Al-Wadiah tender for RM1.5 billion for a week and a RM500 million repo tender for 45 days. -- BERNAMA
