KLIBOR FUTURES EXPECTED TO BE MIXED NEXT WEEK

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The three-month Kuala Lumpur Interbank Offered Rate (KLIBOR) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives is likely to trade mixed next week, amidst stable cash rates, dealers said.

For the week just-ended, the futures market saw lacklustre trade.

On a week-to-week comparision, December 2009 and January 2010 remained unchanged at last Friday's closing of 97.83 and 97.88 respectively.

Turnover declined to 2,461 lots from 4,650 lots registered previously while open interest rose to 34,512 contracts from 32,092 contracts last Friday.

The underlying cash three-month KLIBOR remained unchanged at 2.17 per cent compared with 2.16 per cent last Friday. As for the five-year Malaysian Government Securities (MGS) futures contract, it remained untraded for the week.
