MODERATE EARTHQUAKE NEAR MINAHASSA PENINSULA

KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred near Minahassa peninsula, Indonesia at 10.18pm today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department said in a statement that the quake's epicentre was located 267km west of Manado, North Sulawesi and 571km southeast of Tawau, Sabah. However, the earthquake did not pose any tsunami threat. -- BERNAMA
