KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin today presented medals and awards to 243 honours recipients at Istana Negara here in conjunction with his birthday on June 6.
Heading the list was former Court of Appeal judge the late Datuk Vincent Ng Kim Khoay who was represented by his wife Datin Swee Cheng. He was posthumously conferred the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) award which carries the 'Datuk' title.
Six people received the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) award namely Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) training and education chief Rear Admiral Datuk Musa Omar, Melaka Senator Lee Cheam Choon, former Sabah state assemblyman and member of parliament, Dr Othman Minudin.
The others were Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia's Social Sciences and Humanities Faculty dean Professor Dr Sharifah Mastura Syed Abdullah, Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu) deputy director-general (ICT), Dr Nor Aliah Mohd Zahri and Federal Court Chief Registrar, Hasnah Datuk Mohammed Hashim.
Eleven others received the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) award, 41 the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) and 80 the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) while 104 people received the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) medal.
