SEOUL, South Korea - South Korea's nuclear envoy says six-nation talks on North Korea's nuclear weapons will resume Thursday in Beijing.
Kim Sook told reporters Tuesday before heading to the Chinese capital for preparatory meetings that Beijing officials were expected to make an official announcement later Tuesday.
The six-nation talks _ which include China, Japan, Russia, the U.S. and the two Koreas _ last met in October 2007. The negotiations are resuming after Pyongyang turned in a partial nuclear declaration and has also made progress in disabling its main atomic facility.
The talks were expected to focus on how to verify the North's declaration.
