BERLIN (AFP) - – French midfielder Franck Ribery is making good progress as he recovers from his persistent knee injury, says Bayern Munich's team doctor.
Ribery, 26, has been ruled out for the next two months with a troublesome knee strain, but Bayern's doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt says the joint is responding well to treatment.
"We will treat his knee for a month, then we will see how it is," said Mueller-Wohlfahrt.
"Then we will see, but at the moment we are on the right path."
Mueller-Wohlfahrt, who has a successful track record of treating some of the world's biggest sports stars from his Munich clinic, says an operation is not currently needed.
"It is too early at the moment to rule out an operation, but for now the knee is responding to treatment."
